A number of associates and board members from the Transnational Foundation of Peace and Future Research (TFF) have decided to prepare and launch an anthology of articles in this time to provide a broader understanding of China.
In the fifth article, Peter Peverelli explores how cultural biases shape and, to some extent, manipulate media portrayals of China in the West. He argues that the regulations and protocols of major international organizations such as the UN, WTO, and NATO reflect a Western-centric perspective. Moreover, the very concept of a "rules-based world" as the pinnacle of global governance is deeply rooted in Western cultural values—values that do not necessarily align with cultures in many non-Western nations.
